The 4 panels of the ESL-36 have 36 electrostatic transducers, 8 input transformers and 4 power supplies. The low impedance needs an amplifier that can deliver 200W at 2ohms. Each panel utilizes 9 electrostatic transducers 60x20cm each.The electrostatic technology of our speakers allows to use a diaphragm which is virtually weightless, bipolar and extremely linear in its operation, yielding lower distortion of other speakers technologies. Musical instruments projected from small boxes, sound like they are coming out of one point.The Audio Technologies Electrostatic array principle eliminates this problem by projecting sound from top to bottom, giving height as well as width and depth.Theoretically speakers should use mass less drivers suspended in space with no boxes.ESL-36 diaphragms comes closer to the ideal transducer.With zero mass and without box, the sound is permitted to radiate freely into space.The power from an amplifier causes the conventional cone speaker to distort, because it drives a voice coil.ESL-36 eliminates cone breakup by driving the diaphragm over its entire area.The force from the amplifier is energy transformed and distributed over the entire diaphragm, so that it all moves at the same time.The design requires transformers to drive the stators and the result is, good impedance and power response to the amplifier.In the concert hall and in live music clubs, musical instruments and voices project in all directions.The ESL-36 speakers will allow you to "see" the original performance suspended in space.The detail of high frequencies and image space accuracy are reproduced with such ease by the amplifier, that you will hear details in music you never heard before.Once listeners develop a taste for dipole electrostatic sound, never go back to conventional electro dynamic speakers.The last electrostatic transducers developed from Audio Technologies have several upgrades. The way of supporting the transducers and the quality of the wooden frame has also changed. These improvements gave increased frequency response, better sensitivity and lower distortion. Our manufacturing methods enable construction of electrostatic panels in sections. Their line array configuration solves the problem of obtaining good high frequency dispersion, from a large radiating surface without compromising overall sound quality. Another attribute is their naturally bipolar radiation. Our ESLs as dipoles radiates sound with equal intensity from the front and back of their diaphragm, with the outputs in opposite phase. Sound waves are rippling out the sides, meet at the speaker edge and cancel. That and the relatively large size of the electrostatic panel cause output at the sides to be very low relative to that of a conventional speaker, which in turn minimizes side wall reflections that tend to confuse sonic detail and stereo imaging. The reduction in output to the sides contributes to an exceptional clarity. The energy reflected behind the speakers deepens and opens the sound. Push style banana or bare wire speaker terminals hold the speaker wire into place. At the input of the speaker there is an active protection with relay and automatic reset. A pair of Audio Technologies ESL-36 electrostatic speakers can really sing in the right system. They add nothing and they take away nothing. If your system is bad on our ESL-36 it will sound annoying. If your system sings, and does not need speaker coloration, listen to a pair of ESL-36 speakers. In ESLs the common criticism is the lack of bass. In ESL-36 the bass will not play loud enough to move things, but it's deep and free from the boxy boom of all boxes. Bass is clean, fast and tonally far away from all box woofers with bass bloom resonance. The midrange is so natural that you feel like walking into the sound stage. The frequency extremes are delightful and clean. ESL-36 sound different from any other speaker, due to four things. The extremely wide sound scene, the transfer of the listener to an essentially front seat, the lack of coloration and the absence of noises. |

Εάν το σύστημά σας είναι κακό στα ESL-36 θα ακουστεί ενοχλητικό. Εάν το σύστημά σας τραγουδάει και δεν χρειάζεται χρωματισμό ηχείων, ακούστε ένα ζευγάρι ESL-36. Στα ESLs η κοινή κριτική είναι η έλλειψη μπάσου. Στα ESL-36 το μπάσο δεν θα παίξει αρκετά δυνατά για να μετακινήσει αντικείμενα, αλλά είναι βαθύ καί απαλλαγμένο από το bass bloom όλων των κουτιών. Τα μπάσα είναι καθαρά, γρήγορα και τονικά μακριά από όλα τα box woofer με την αντήχηση των μπάσων. Το μεσαίο είναι τόσο φυσικό που νιώθεις σαν να βρίσκεσαι μέσα στην ηχητική σκηνή. Οι ακραίες συχνότητες είναι απολαυστικές και καθαρές. Ο ήχος των ESL-36 διαφέρει από οποιοδήποτε άλλο ηχείο, λόγω τεσσάρων πραγμάτων. Την εξαιρετικά ευρεία ηχητική σκηνή, τη μεταφορά του ακροατή σε ένα ουσιαστικά μπροστινό κάθισμα, την έλλειψη χρωματισμών και την απουσία θορύβων. |
